2025/09/23 Taiwan Typhoon Fourteen people have died in the eastern county of Hualien, Taiwan, with 124 missing after a barrier lake in the mountains overflowed to deluge a town during Super Typhoon Ragasa that struck Taiwan, the fire department said on Wednesday, 24 September 2025. Taiwan has been lashed since Monday by the outer rim of they typhoon. 2025/09/22 Philippines (the) Typhoon Super Typhoon RAGASA (local nam: Nando) made landfall on 22 September 2025 over Babuyan Islands in extreme Northern Luzon. It combined with the effects of tropical storm MITAG and the Southwest Monsoon, triggered flooding, landslides, and severe weather-related incidents. These events resulted in three fatalities, nine injured, nearly 200,000 affected, and over 36,000 displaced people across nine regions of the country. 2025/09/13-2025/09/15 Malaysia Landslide Heavy rainfall from 13-15 September triggered flash floods and landslides, impacting the cities of Kota Kinabalu, Papar, and Penampang in Sabah state, northern Borneo Island, Malaysia. These incidents have caused fatalities and damage. 2025/09/09 Indonesia Flood On 9 September 2025, heavy rainfall impacted Bali Province, located on Bali Island, central-eastern Indonesia, causing floods and resulting in casualties and damage. 2025/08/31 Afghanistan Earthquake 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck mountainous eastern region of Afghanistan at 23:47 local time on Sunday, 31 August 2025. Due to the earthquake, hundreds were feared dead and injured.

The Thoughts of ADRC

ADRC was founded in 1998 in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture.
The mission is to enhance disaster resilience of its member countries, to create safe communities where people can live with peace of mind, and to create a society that enables sustainable development.
For the purpose, the ADRC is promoting the establishment of multilateral networks through personnel exchanges and a variety of other programs for disaster risk reduction in Asia.
